Categorizing Personal Style

As I was waiting for a pot of coffee to brew…I had to giggle at two guys in the break room who were discussing men’s clothing and shoes. One of them admitted he was pushing the metrosexual boundaries and that even his neighbor called him by it. I had to admit that I agreed. So that got me thinking about what exactly that term is meant to entail?
My personal definition is a man who is clean cut, tucks in his shirt, matches his belt to his shoes, wears clothes that fit, ability to mix & match trendy pieces of clothing with classics, and looks comfortable, not stuffy or uptight.
Wikipedia’s Definition is men who have a strong concern for their aesthetic appearance, and spend a substantial amount of time and money on their images and lifestyles.
Is it fair to categorize people’s sense of style? Maybe it would be better to say that some one is metrosexualesque? I don’t think I have ever had a personal style that could be categorized….hmmmm…nope, I really don’t know where I would fit in the fashion genre. I guess I just wear what looks decent that day. LOL

So what is your style genre?

So Kat, my co-host, sent me a link to a site with T-shirts…to one that she found that was cute. I was checking it out and found the above item.

Making Assumptions & General Banter

Do you ever stop to think that perhaps you give people more credit in means of intelligence then you should? I work in a pretty technical field and most of my day to day activities and terminology are way beyond the understanding of most of my friends and family, yet I find myself assuming that my clients are well informed and knowledgeable when the truth is that 90% of the time they haven’t got a clue!

I get easily frustrated when they misinterpret correspondence, or don’t complete tasks that they are responsible for. I guess…as the saying goes…that make me an Ass! Oh and wasn’t there something about you in there too?

In other news – I survived PodCampNYC…barely! I’m prolly the biggest procrastinator in the world or I would have filled you in sooner. No worries though…I’ve ordered the Brian-Blogger 2000 series with the automatic RSS converter and USB expresso maker. Once that arrives I won’t have to worry about finding the time to get all these thoughts on virtual paper. The posts will be digitally transmitted from my brain through a series of infrared tubes direct to my blog and feed to you almost instantly! (I really am cutting back on the crack…I swear!)

So…PodCampNYC – I drank too much on Friday night and ended up skipping most…err…like ALL sessions to nap. I suppose that is what I get for not building up my tolerance enough beforehand. I had an awesome time meeting people at Slate on Friday and then hanging out on Saturday. Many of the people, like Jay Moonah and John Swords, who I had the pleasure of knowing from my Second Life…felt as though we did it all the time! How weird is that? I’ve become so digitally engaged that I am 100% comfortable with the non-pixelized forms of these personalities. I’m still processing the feel of it…. and can’t stop thinking about every time Jay would point out that we were in Real Life! That prolly makes no sense to many of you 2D-ers but it’s pretty freekin cool if you ask me.

I was pretty surprised to see many familiar faces in NYC who I had the pleasure of meeting in Cali last Fall at PME (Podcast and Portable Media Expo). Many of them said they remembered me too…kinda nice to hear even tho I’m pretty sure they were just being polite. ;)

I gave a full list of shout outs in the Podcast The-Broad-Cast #24 due out…when I get to it….and posted up some pics on Flickr if you are curious. :)

Well, I don’t want to ramble on…it’s the end of my work day and I’m heading out to purchase an external HD for my new Mac Mini. Apparently I neglected to calculate the size of my mp3s and Adult film collections and the poor, five day old, 60 G Mini is crammed full!! To the extent that I can’t even install Skype! Psshh… anyway…my intentions of rebuilding a PC tower to be utilized as a server for said media files is superceded by my lack of patience and motivation…so to shopping I will go! Gotta remember to pick up a nice USB hub too while I’m at it…4 USB ports just isn’t enough…where am I supposed to plug in my USB Lava Lamp!??

Toodles for now…
